Houses

The houses are effectively teams of pupils across the year groups who earn house points for their ‘house’. House points can be gained many ways including showing respect, good manners, positive attitudes to learning, resilience and being caring and helpful.

Our four Houses are named after local historical figures.  See what you can find out about them!

Not only does this team approach motivate good behaviour and team work it encourages a team spirit across all the year groups in Key Stage 2. The announcement by our House Captains of the total points gained by each House is one of the highlights of our weekly Celebration Assembly.

Each week the leading House has a House coloured ribbon tied to the House trophy and that House also takes a step closer to the pinnacle of the BJS ‘Learning Mountain’ in the school hall.
