OVER 50 PARTICIPANTS FROM OUR FEDERATION
We ‘Moved a Mile’ for Muscular Dystrophy
We were very luck today to have a visit from Muscular Dystrophy UK representative Gill who explained to us lots of interesting facts and information about Muscular Dystrophy.
There are 650 muscles in the human body, we use more muscles to frown than we do smile, it takes over 200 muscles to walk, there are many different types of Muscular Dystrophy and that 1:1000 people in the UK has some form of Muscular Dystrophy.
Our pupils were truly AMAZING in their ‘Move a Mile’ efforts – from completing lap after lap of our field to helping younger pupils and also ensuring that the staff were kept busy on the recording tables!
Many thanks to all the adults who made the event possible – now it’s over to the pupils to submit sponsor forms and money so that we can establish who will receive MD badges (over £5 of sponsor money), MD teddy bear key rings (the Top 10 sponsor money totals) and a signed Jack Wilshire England football (over £2o of sponsor money in a lucky dip).
Please submit sponsor forms and money by Friday 19 May 2017.
An Olympian will visit our school!
We are very excited to be expecting a visit from the OLYMPIC swimmer ANTONY JAMES on Thursday 8 May to lead a whole-school sponsored fitness morning to raise money to purchase PE equipment for our school.
This will be on the morning of our rain-delayed Sports Day so children can come to school that day in their PE kit.
Your child should have a sponsor form on which the event and prizes on offer are explained.

Many thanks for your support!
