Welcome to Y4! We are really looking forward to spending time with your children this term and have lots of exciting learning activities planned.
To start with, our science topic will ask – and answer - the question: Where does our food go? This will cover aspects of food and nutrition, food chains and webs, teeth and the amazing process of digestion! We are looking forward to some practical experiments and hope we may be able to invite visitors into school to share their expertise in this area. If you feel you may be able to help, please let us know.
After half-term we will be investigating electricity in science and The Dark Ages in history and geography. We are even hoping to plan and stage our own battles once we have found out how and why they were fought and will be creating our very own Bude tapestry to rival the Bayeux version.
We will be having PE on Thursday afternoons this term so please ensure your child has their kit (including a pair of suitable trainers or plimsolls). On Wednesday afternoons, starting on Wednesday September 13th, we will be swimming. If you have not yet received a letter with details of swimming, please contact your child’s class teacher. If you are available to help walking to and from Splash, please let us know.
